Who We Are
The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; Lord, here I am, send me.
This short yet profound message carries the hearts of countless missionaries, bishops, priests, and religious sisters. For centuries, they have gone forth one after another, leaving their homes behind, stepping onto the unfamiliar land of Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau with deep trust and love for God and people. Whether in bustling cities, remote villages, or distant mountain regions, they went to every corner, establishing hospitals, schools of all kinds, charitable institutions, social service organizations, and media outlets. They tended to people’s bodies, minds, and spirits, sowing light and love in society, making God’s care and compassion tangible, and restoring hope, love and dignity in every neglected corner.
Along the way, they endured loneliness, hardship, and challenges, facing countless difficulties and misunderstandings. Yet it was precisely through these sacrifices and steadfastness that the faith and love we cherish today were shaped and preserved. As time passes, this history may gradually fade from memory, but the mission and ministry these predecessors dedicated their lives to continues today, like a faint light crossing the centuries, illuminating every heart willing to respond to the call.
With gratitude for God’s boundless grace, and in honor of generations of priests and sisters we encountered, and countless unnamed devotees, we are determined to take up this mission, continuing the flame of evangelization and love. For this purpose, with the support and generous sponsorship of priests and sisters from the Jesuits, Dominicans, Franciscans, SVD, Salesians, and other religious orders, as well as committed lay faithful, we established the Agape Charity Corps, Inc.
This foundation is more than an organization; it carries the devotion and love of generations of believers, as well as a call that transcends time: to bring love, care, education, and hope to every person in need. It is like a flame, crossing the past, present, and future, reminding us that God’s love is never absent and His mission never ceases. Every heart willing to respond extends this light further. May we all hear that call, courageously step forward, and say—“Lord, here I am, send me.”
